Death to my Feet

Nine days left until I compete in my first 'Death To My Feet Run'. Now that I am in the single digit countdown to my marathon, I need to get serious.... crap I need to start running. Just kidding...I've been running. That's the problem, the more I run the more I hurt. My feet are on strike! They hate me...I try to support and encourage them, but they won't listen. It's their way or no way. Their way would be for me to lightly jog a mile or so on the soft sand of a Caribbean island and receive pedicures daily. They don't believe me that I am stuck in the mid west. That's why they are on strike; hopefully we can come to an agreement soon.

Since I am tapering my training this week and next it is hard to actually get out and run. Luckily I have a persistent training partner who insists on training. She got me out of the house too early in the morning to run 6 miles and to my amazement I felt good. I feel a little more prepared psychologically. I think from here on out it is going to be a head game. Since I am a head case I should be ahead of the game.
